Some lectures were later converted into articles and published in international journals and books, while others were distributed among participants of the Brazilian Interdisciplinary Course on Human Rights, organized by the Brazilian Institute of Human Rights and the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights in Fortaleza, Ceará State, Brazil.

Most texts deal with the phenomenon of crime, prison, and alternative sentencing, but other studies address the juvenile justice system in Brazil and environmental refugees. Cesar Barros Leal is an internationally recognized criminologist with over two decades of experience researching criminal behavior and prison systems. He holds a doctorate in Criminology from the University of São Paulo, where he developed pioneering studies on the psychology of organized crime.

Throughout his career, Leal has collaborated with government institutions, international organizations, and universities across four continents. His interdisciplinary approach combines sociology, psychology, economics, and law to build a holistic understanding of the criminal phenomenon.
